Man Charged In Double-Fatal Crash

Victims Hit While Riding Motorcycle

HOUMA, La. -- A Chalmette man faces multiple charges after he was involved
in a double-fatal crash overnight.

Clayton S. Bourgeois, 34, has been charged with two counts of vehicular
homicide and one count of driving while intoxicated after a wreck in the
early hours of Saturday on Main Street near Howard Avenue.

Police said Michael Boudreaux, 26, and Susan Dupre, 35, both of Houma, died
as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.

Officers were called to the scene of a crash involving a motorcycle and a
truck, and when they arrived, the bike was engulfed in flames, police said.

Investigators said both vehicles were traveling west on Main Street, and
after passing Howard Avenue the truck driven by Bourgeois made a U-turn
while the motorcycle driven by Boudreaux was passing and the crashed
together.

Boudreaux was pronounced dead at the scene and his passenger, Dupre, was
taken to Terrebonne General Medical Center where she later died from
injuries suffered in the crash.

Bourgeois received minor injuries. His breath test showed a blood alcohol
level of .081 percent.

Bourgeois was arrested and charged. He was taken to the Terrebonne Parish
Jail where he was awaiting a trial or bond.
