Yea blame it on Craig. You should find a way to correct it and by cutting
jobs is the easy cop out Gene

Chalmette, La. - St. Bernard Parish President Dave Peralta blames
mismanagement by Craig Taffaro's administration for recent layoffs.

Pink slips went out to 44 parish employees Friday.

Peralta says it was necessary to help cover a $5 to $6 million dollar budget
shortfall.

He says the parish came up short because the previous administration's sales
tax projections were wrong.

"We noticed that in January alone it was $900,000 below what the projections
were under the 2012 budget. At that point we knew we were probably facing
some serious problems," and Peralta says there could be more cuts.

He notes some employees could get their jobs back if the parish can find
money from other sources.
