Five arrested in Chalmette burglary ring

St. Bernard deputies arrest five people in connection with a burglary ring
in Chalmette.

Sheriff-elect James Pohlmann says at least two of the male victims knew the
female suspect.

Pohlmann says Bridgette Johnston of Meraux befriended the men and left a
window unlocked for her half-brother and others to burglarize them after her
visit.

Johnston faces two counts of burglary.

Her half-brother Brandon Johnston of Chalmette and Nathan Reese of Meraux
have been charged with three counts of burglary.

The charges against Eugene Minor of New Orleans include burglary, possession
of stolen items and theft by fraud.

Deputies charged Colen Glass, who they say lived with Bridgette Johnson,
with possession of stolen property.

Detectives believe the group may also be responsible for other recent
burglaries in the area.
