HURRICANE ISAAC DEBRIS REMOVAL GUIDELINES

Hurricane Isaac Debris removal began last week in St. Bernard Parish.
Parish President David Peralta and Councilmembers are reminding ALL property
owners to place storm debris on the parish "right-of-way" between the
sidewalk and street. Please DO NOT put any debris close to: fire hydrants,
mailboxes or water meters. Also DO NOT stack debris higher than eight (8')
feet under power lines.

Debris should be separated into the following categories:

. Clean Vegetative debris - tree limbs and branches. Leaves must be
bundled in a paper box or bag. Trucks WILL NOT pick up leaves or tree limbs
in plastic bags. Tree limbs and branches will be burned.

. Construction and Demolition Debris - furniture, carpet, drywall,
non-asbestos shingles and roofing material, etc.

. Household Hazardous Waste - paint, cleaning supplies, household
chemicals.

Please do not mix STORM debris with your regular garbage. The garbage
pick-up is handled by a separate company and cans will not be picked up if
it has storm debris in it.

Following these guidelines will help the Parish to clean up the debris from
Isaac and get us back to normal more quickly.
