ST. BERNARD PARISH ANIMAL SERVICES RECEIVES BALES OF HAY FOR STORM-AFFECTED
HORSES

In response to Hurricane Isaac, Louisiana State Animal Response Team (LSART)
sent 360 bales of hay to St. Bernard Parish Animal Services for
storm-affected horses to be distributed by the parish. The hay was divided
between Poydras Arena, owned by Beau and Jamie Armond and the farm of Kevin
Williams where displaced horses from Plaquemines Parish were being housed.
It was also distributed from these two areas to St. Bernard residents whose
horses were affected by the storm.

"We thank LSART for their support in the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac. They
were critical in assessing needs of large animals, providing medical care
and helping with the rescue of many animals," said Beth Brewster, Director
of St. Bernard Parish Animal Services.
