HURRICANE ISAAC DEBRIS PICK-UP

St. Bernard Parish Government Officials want residents to know that
Hurricane Isaac storm debris is being picked up. The crews are making a
first pass through the Parish picking up the Vegetative (tree branches)
debris and then will be back to pick up the C&D debris (treated lumber,
furniture, plastics, etc). The first pass is expected to be completed by
September 26th.

It is important for residents to get their debris to the curb as soon as
possible. The time allotted by FEMA for funding of the cleanup is limited.

If you live on a State Hwy, (Paris Road, Judge Perez, St Bernard Hwy., LA
46, Bayou Road, Florissant Hwy., Hopedale Hwy., Yscloskey Hwy., Delacroix
Hwy.) the Parish's contractor cannot pick up that debris. The State has
contractors making passes of those roads.

Debris should be separated into the following categories:

. Clean Vegetative debris - tree limbs and branches. Leaves must be
bundled in a paper box or bag. Trucks WILL NOT pick up leaves or tree limbs
in plastic bags. Tree limbs and branches will be burned.

. Construction and Demolition Debris - furniture, carpet, drywall,
non-asbestos shingles and roofing material, etc.

. Household Hazardous Waste - paint, cleaning supplies, household
chemicals.

Please do not mix STORM debris with your regular garbage. The garbage
pick-up is handled by a separate company and cans will not be picked up if
it has storm debris in it.
