St. Bernard Parish showcased at the 2012 Louisiana Actors and Film Industry
Expo



St. Bernard Parish Office of Film and Television was fully represented at
this year’s 2012 Louisiana Actors and Film Industry Expo. St. Bernard Parish
showcased locations throughout St. Bernard Parish to Tremé writer Mari
Kornhauser and Producer Suzanne Weinert, who both served the Expo as
panelists on The Treatment Project panel which also included UNO
Screenwriting Professor and Tremé Actor Henry Griffin and Louisiana
Screenwriter Steve Esteb (Dirty Politics). The Louisiana Actors & Film
Industry Expo is a professional development conference that supports the
Louisiana film industry, the number three state for film production in the
United States.



The panelists attending the event included many well-known screenwriters,
directors, producers, and film financiers, such as screenwriters Henry
Griffin and Mari Kornhauser, Film Production Capital CEO Will French,
Producer Jason Hewitt (Films in Motion), Baker Donelson Attorney Rob
Wollfarth, Melissa Wiseman, and La. Bar Association Entertainment Chair -
Attorney Michael Arata. Some of the events included The Treatment Project
Panel, The Pitch to Producers Panel, The Casting Your Film Panel, Shooting
in 3D, Editing Your Film, and The Film Finance Forum. Saturday and Sunday’s
events continued the Expo with many events for actors involving casting,
getting an agent, and auditioning. Christopher Brown form the Film &
Television office served as a moderator on one of the panels.



St. Bernard Parish Office of Film and Television Director Ryan Fink
showcased many of St. Bernard Parish’s scenic byways, historic locations,
bridges, roads, plantations, and beautiful waterfronts to many panelists and
vendors who participated throughout the Filmmaker day on Friday, September
28th, 2012. Ryan Fink also communicated to the panelists many of the films
which have shot in St. Bernard Parish in recent months, including: Killing
Them Softly starring Brad Pitt; Jeff Who Lives at Home starring Jason Segel;
The Hot Flashes starring Daryl Hannah and Eric Roberts; and The Campaign
starring Will Ferrell. Under the leadership of Ryan Fink, St. Bernard Parish
has thrived as a destination for filming, boasting many films in the last
Four years.


The Film and Television office is looking for St. Bernard Parish property
owners interested in leasing property to the Film and Television industry.

Television industry for St. Bernard Parish from the previous year. The
