Arc of GNO's 2nd Annual Anything Goes Gala to benefit Sterling Hall
renovation at the former Prince of Peace property will take place Thursday,
November 8, 2012. Parade of prizes, unique silent auction items, a 50-50
raffle and smooth jazz band sounds will fill the Sigur Center Auditorium
beginning at 6:00pm. A buffet dinner will be provided by Redemption,
Bella's, Flour Power and Royal Sonesta at 7:00pm. Cast members from Arc's
four regional centers will take the stage to perform "Funky Times at the
Blue Door Shack." Tickets are $50 per person. Prizes, auction items and
donations may be made until October 31. This is a "you don't want to miss
it" event as community members dress their tables and their guests according
to the theme "Everyone's A Star." You can expect to see rock stars,
Hollywood stars, Star Wars, Cajun Swamp stars, pawn stars, constellations,
star bucks and more! For more information call Polly Campbell at
504.554.7134 or Judy Hoffmeister at 504.400.3657.

Arc of GNO is a non-profit organization which has provided
supports/services/employment to adults with intellectual disabilities in the
Greater New Orleans area for over 57 years. Thanks to a generous lease with
the Archdiocese of New Orleans and the generosity of our local community the
doors to Arc's Chalmette Community Center day program opened in the fall of
2011, six years after Katrina's devastation. There are still doors to be
opened to provide meaningful life experiences for a talented, aspiring and
growing group of adults. The restoration of Sterling Hall will enable two
more Arc offices to return to St. Bernard parish- Project H.E.L.P. and
Supported Living. This project including continued development of the
surrounding property is expected to require approximately $500,000. Any
donation made will provide a life time of returns and yet another door to
open.
