EARLY VOTING FOR THE NOVEMBER 6TH ELECTION OCTOBER 23RD THRU OCTOBER 30TH  

 

Early voting for the November 6th Election is taking place today, October
23rd thru Tuesday, October 30th in the St. Bernard Registrar of Voters
Office, 8201 W. Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette in Room 104 from 8:30 a.m. to
6:00 p.m.   The office will not be opened on Sunday, October 28th.  Voters
must show a photo I.D.

enforcement personnel in the district or otherwise promoting and encouraging
security in the district, shall be enacted unless three separate notices of
the proposed law are published at least thirty days prior to introduction of
the bill, which notice shall set forth the substance of the proposed law and
whether the governing authority of the special district would be authorized
to impose and collect a parcel fee within the district, whether the parcel
fee will be imposed or may be increased without an election, and the maximum

VIII, to amend Section 8-04 (Ethics Board) for selection of board members
for St. Bernard Parish. 

Shall Article VIII, Section 8-04 of the Home Rule Charter of the Parish of
St. Bernard, State of Louisiana, be amended to read as follows: (a) The St.
Bernard Parish Ethics Board (hereinafter referred to as the ethics board)
shall be composed of (5) five members. (b) The members shall be selected
from nominations submitted by the presidents/chancellors from the following
institutions of higher learning: 1. University of New Orleans 2. Loyola
University 3. Tulane University 4. Xavier University 5. Nunez Community

Parishwide Proposition (Communications District) (In-Lieu) Summary:
Authority for the St. Bernard Parish Communications District to amend its
existing emergency telephone service charges to levy such charges on a
uniform flat fee schedule of fixed rates not based on any tariff rate, for
the purpose of improving, maintaining and operating an enhanced 911
emergency telephone system and for any other authorized purposes of the
District, to be levied in perpetuity. 

Shall the St. Bernard Parish Communications District, State of Louisiana
(the "District") be authorized to amend its existing emergency telephone
service charges to levy such charges on a uniform flat fee schedule of fixed
rates not based on any tariff rate, at a rate not to exceed one dollar per
month ($1.00) for each residential line, two dollars and seven cents per
month ($2.07) for each commercial line and one dollar and twenty-six cents
($1.26) per month for each cellular or other wireless telecommunications
service, to be levied in perpetuity, for the purpose of improving,
maintaining and operating an enhanced 911 emergency telephone system and for
any other authorized purposes of the District, all in accordance with Act
No. 341 of the 2012 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature, such
service charges estimated to generate approximately $546,000 per year, an
increase of approximately $186,000 per year?
