ST. BERNARD FIRE DEPARTMENT TO BEGIN FIRE HYDRANT INSPECTIONS ON MONDAY,
APRIL 1, 2013

 

The St. Bernard Parish Fire Department will commence Fire Hydrant
Inspections on Monday, April 1, 2013.  Throughout the parish individual fire
hydrants will be opened for approximately two minutes to record water
pressure and flow readings.

 

Inspections will be completed between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Monday through Friday.

 

This is a necessary procedure performed twice a year to ensure that all fire
hydrants in the parish work properly. Residents may experience rusty water
during this testing. By running water for five minutes the rust should be
flushed and clear up.
