Chalmette Bicycle Store Celebrates 50 Years in Business

 

Chalmette Bicycle Store celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a ribbon
cutting ceremony on Monday, April 1st at 111 E. St. Bernard Highway in
Chalmette.  Parish President David Peralta presented a plaque to the owners
and congratulated them on a job well done. The business was started in 1963
by William and Annie Ybarzabal and is currently being operated by Siblings
Catherine Ybarzabal Serpas, Mary Ybarzabal Foster, Melanie Ybarzabal Koons,
Patricia Ybarzabal Cassange and William Ybarzabal, Jr.  

 

Chalmette Bicycle, known by the bicycles hanging in the air, specializes in
Sun bicycles' cruisers, lawnmowers, and a wide variety of bicycle parts,
lawnmowers parts and accessories.  To celebrate their 50th Anniversary the
store is sponsoring a FREE raffle of a bicycle, a lawn mower and a blower.
Customers can sign up now until May 31st.  Three winners will be chosen in
early June.

 

The store is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday
