The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office is looking for a New Orleans man
accused of dragging a St. Bernard Parish woman 50 feet alongside his vehicle
after an argument. Lydell Jones, 23, whose last address was 918 Andry St.,
is wanted on a warrant for aggravated battery, the St. Bernard Parish
Sheriff's Office said.
The woman, who lives in Violet, told deputies she and Jones had an argument
May 31 and she told him to leave her house. She was walking across the
street as he was pulling away in his vehicle, a Nissan SUV, and he grabbed
her, she told deputies.
The woman said Jones grabbed her by the arm and accelerated. The Sheriff's
Office said the woman was dragged about 50 feet, trying to run as fast as
she could before hitting the ground.
Anyone knowing Jones' whereabouts is asked to call the St. Bernard Sheriff's
Office at (504) 271-2501 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
