This summer, incoming 11th and 12th graders can explore four career pathways
at Nunez Community College and earn certifications from via a Summer Bridge
Program, offered to them for free through Carl Perkins funds.

Gillian McKay, College and Career Transitions Coordinator at Nunez, says,
The Career Pathways Summer Bridge Program is designed to provide hands-on
training to high school juniors and seniors in Computer Information Services
(CINS), Process Technology (PTEC), Health Services, and Entrepreneurship."

"The purpose of the bridge program is to allow juniors and seniors to get
real experience in high-wage, high-skill, high-demand career pathways so
they learn about the various industries' demands and expectations, needed
training, and potential salaries in order for them to make more informed
choices for their futures," said McKay.

Students will earn WorkKeys Certifications in CINS and PTEC, CPR Training
and certification in Health Sciences, and a Wonderlic Entrepreneurship
Profile from the Entrepreneurship program which will culminate in student
micro-businesses by the camps' end.

Contact Gillian McKay at 504-278-6421 to reserve a space. Camps begin June
17th through to June 28th.
