Time sure flies when you are having a good time. The programs at the St.
Bernard Parish Library have been more fun than a barrel full of monkeys.
Say what? Come again? That's exactly what library friends will be saying
when they come to the last week of summer reading activities scheduled for
July 8th - 12th.

We'll be digging into the last of our summer library fun until
we hit pay dirt as we laugh at the meanings behind idioms with tales such as
Pulling My Leg by Jo Carson and Cowlick by Christin Ditchfield. Shel
Silverstein's poem, 'Shaking' is sure to have listeners doing just
that-shaking their heads at the craziness of it all. These free story
programs are set for Tuesday, July 9th at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and on
Wednesday, July 10th at 11:30 a.m.

Pre-readers thru 12th graders who have been reading and working
on their activity sheets are reminded that the deadline to redeem them for
certificates, McDonald's treats and to be entered in the grand finale prize
drawing is Thursday, July 11th. Winners must be present at the prize
drawing to claim their prize. The grand finale prize drawing will take
place on Friday, July 12th at 2:30 p.m. If a reader is unable to complete
his or her activity sheet in time for the prize drawing or is unable to
attend, they can continue working on them through Saturday, August 3rd.
Adult readers have until August 3rd to complete their activity sheets to be
eligible for the prize drawing set for Monday, August 5th. Adult winners
will be notified by phone.

The St. Bernard Parish Library is fortunate to have the support of many
community-minded sponsors. They recognize the importance of making reading
a part of everyday life. The library is proud to recognize the following
businesses and groups for their continued support: Audubon Nature
Institute, Chalmette Movies,

J & M Jewelers, Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi, Louisiana Children's
Museum, McDonald's, National WWII Museum, New Orleans Paddlewheels, Pets
Plus, Raising Cane's, and Tony's Po-Boy Restaurant.

For more information about the library activities, please stop by the
library at 2600 Palmisano Blvd. in Chalmette or call the library at
