A New Orleans rapper has been booked with attempted first-degree murder and
two counts of armed robbery stemming from an April incident in Chalmette,
according to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office.

Widner DeGruy, who performs under the stage name "Flow," was extradited from
California by the U.S. Marshals Service and booked into the parish jail on
June 27, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.

DeGruy, 21, allegedly tried to shoot a man in Chalmette on April 29,
according to the release. While he missed, DeGruy, 7928 Bass St., followed
up by beating the man and taking cash and cell phones from him as well as a
second man, according to the release.

The department did not release details about the possible motivation for the
attack but noted that DeGruy knew the man he tried to shoot.

DeGruy is being held in St. Bernard Parish Prison in lieu of a $350,000
bond. As Flow, he performs with The Flamez and is signed to Lil' Wayne's
Young Money Entertainment label, according to the Sheriff's Office.
