ST. BERNARD PARISH PREPARES FOR EFFECTS OF TROPICAL STORM KAREN

St. Bernard Parish officials are closely monitoring TS Karen. The latest

Saturday night.

. Potential for Tropical Storm winds or gusts, 35-45 mph winds in
the western part of the parish and 55 to 60 mph in the eastern part of the
parish.

. Possible loss of electricity

The parish's crews are out assessing roadways and all drainage pumps have
been inspected and stations have been pump down in anticipation of the
storm. St. Bernard Parish President David Peralta encourages all citizens
to take the necessary steps now to prepare your families, homes, and
property in the event the parish is impacted by this or any weather event.

. Clear debris from storm drains; pick up loose limbs, trash and
lawn sign around their property.

. Secure garbage cans - Progressive Waste will pick up Garbage on
Saturday for the regular Saturday schedule.

CANCELLATIONS/CLOSURES

. Recreation Activities - Homecoming parade, courthouse and games
have been postponed until Saturday, October 12th. Friday night Mix League
games will play as scheduled.
