ST. BERNARD PARISH CONTINUES TO MONITOR TS KAREN



St. Bernard Parish officials continue to monitor TS Karen. Although the
latest forecast track from the National Hurricane Center shows TS Karen has
weakened quite a bit, residents are urged to remain cautious.



The Emergency Operation Center is opened and Essential personnel are on
standby. Residents are reminded to clear debris from storm drains around
their property and secure garbage cans and other items.



Entergy crews are prepared to react in the event of outages in the area.

CANCELLATIONS/CLOSURES



. St. Bernard Transit: The bus service has been cancelled for today
and will resume on Monday, October 7, 2013.



. Southeast Levee Flood Protection Authority East (SLFPAE): The IHNC
Sector Gate on the GIWW, the Bayou Bienvenue Lift Gate will close in the
next hour for the duration of this event. The Seabrook Sector Gate & Lift
Gates will be closed later today.



. Save Louisiana Coast: The Battle for the Bayou scheduled tonight
in the Sigur Civic Center has been rescheduled for October 19th. Call
504-416-9853 for more information.
