AP News Flash:

 

After much consideration, Daniel Snyder, owner of the Washington Redskins
has decided there is a lot of disgrace and embarrassment associated with the
name of his team.  So, the team will make a change for the 2014 NFL season.
Beginning next season the team will be known simply as the "Redskins."  The
name "Washington" he says is associated with shame and embarrassment, so he
decided the name change will help improve the overall image of his
organization.
