Weatherization Assistance Program now Serving St. Bernard Parish Residents

Delivering Energy Efficiency Services to Low-Income Households

 

St. Tammany Parish DHHS, Office of Community Action Agency, is currently
accepting applications for the weatherization program in St. Bernard Parish.
Weatherization reduces energy costs for low-income families by improving the
energy efficiency of their homes.  Work will be done by local licensed and
insured contractors at no cost to the residents.

 

ü  Priority is given to the elderly (over age 60), disabled persons, and
families with children age 5 and under.

ü  Single-family homes, Multi-family dwellings, Mobile Homes, Renters, and
Home owners are eligible to apply.

 

Economical tools will be installed to reduce home energy consumption.

Typical measures MAY include but not limited to:

 

·                     Reducing air infiltration

·                     Repairing Minor  Water leaks

·                     Installing attic insulation

·                     Setback thermostats

·                     Dense pack wall insulation

·                     Carbon Monoxide Detectors

·                     Duct sealing

·                     Smoke Detectors

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You can become eligible for the Weatherization Assistance Program If your
household meets the income requirements.
