Live Christmas trees are being collected in Chalmette

St. Bernard Parish Government will be collecting Christmas trees to be used
as part of the marsh restoration. Residents of St. Bernard Parish can bring
their Christmas trees to the Paris Road Transfer Station, at 5120 Paris Road
in Chalmette.

Trees will be collected daily from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 p.m. to
4:00 p.m.

Only clean, unpainted and nonflocked trees can be accepted. All lights,
tinsel, garland, ornaments, tree stands, and plastic bags must be removed
from the tree. Artificial, flocked or painted trees will not be accepted for
the program.
