Service on the Algiers-Chalmette ferry has been suspended, according to
transportation officials. Dropping temperatures have caused ice to form on
the roads at the ferry landing, officials said. The final trip from Lower
Algiers was at 1 p.m and Chalmette at 1:15 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Algiers-Canal Street ferry is still running, but officials
warned that ice was beginning to form on the boat and ferry landing. Marine
Operations will continue to monitor conditions before a decision is
announced.
