The College and Career Transitions Coordinator and Career Services Office at
Nunez Community College will host its annual Career Fair April 24 from 10
a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sigur Civic Center Ballroom in Chalmette.

Among the companies represented are ACER LLC, Aflac, Atmos Energy, Audubon
Nature Institute, Boasso America Corp., Brooke Companies, Canal Barge Co.
Inc., Chalmette Refining LLC, Crest Industries LLC, East Jefferson General
Hospital, Gulf Coast Bank & Trust, Hardee’s Restaurants, Paradigm Investment
Group, Hilton New Orleans–Riverside, Hotel Monteleone, ISC Constructors LLC,
ITT Technical Institute, Legal Shield, Louisiana Army National Guard,
Raising Cane’s, Regions Bank, Royal Sonesta Hotel, St. Bernard Port,
Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, Superior Options of LA, Inc., United Bulk
Terminals, Upper Iowa University–New Orleans, and Valero Meraux Refinery.

The career fair is open to the public, and those planning on attending are
advised to bring several copies of recent résumés and dress to impress
prospective employers. Anyone seeking more information about participation

The Nunez Hospitality Department is also hosting a one-day career training
certification for the Louisiana Responsible Vendor Program on April 25 from
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program is designed to educate all who serve or sell
alcohol, tobacco, and tobacco products.

Nunez offers the one-day training via Training for Intervention Procedures
(TIPS) to all those who need to successfully attend and pass a the training
course and obtain a Responsible Vendor Server Permit at the lowest cost in
the Greater New Orleans area.
