Tomato Festival will be held May 2-4 in Chalmette

Our Lady of Prompt Succor School and Church will hold the annual Tomato
Festival May 2-4 at the church and school grounds in Chalmette. Rides,
bands, games, food, and other entertainment are planned.

On May 2, the festival opens from 6 p.m. to midnight. Supercharger performs
at 8:30 p.m.

On May 3, the fair will be held from 11:30 a.m. to midnight. OLPS students
will perform at 11:30 a.m. Voodoo Gumbo provides music at

5 p.m.; Jason Dorcey, 7 p.m., and Wise Guys, 8:30 a.m.

On May 4, the fair opens from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. OLPS students perform at
11:30 a.m. August Rush provides music at 4 p.m.; Jason Dorcey, 6 p.m.; and
Bag of Donuts, 7 p.m.

The Tomato Queen Pageant is open to young women currently residing in
Louisiana, who presently attend school and are between the ages of 13 - 16
for the Teen division and 17 - 21 for the Miss division. The pageant will be
held during the festival, in the school cafeteria on May 3. Applications may
be picked up at the school office and church rectory.

A baby contest also will be held May 3 and is open to any child up to, but
not yet 6 years of age by the date of contest. For information, call the

Pay one price ride armbands will be available for $15 per session in advance
and $20 on grounds. Weekend armbands will be available for $45 in advance
and $50 on grounds.
