CHALMETTE, LA (WVUE) -
Five teenagers have been arrested after a series of alleged crimes,
including shooting two people with a BB-gun.

St. Bernard Parish Sheriff James Pohlmann said a 31-year-old man and a
23-year-old woman were hit with BB shots in separate incidents in Chalmette
on May 11. They suffered minor injuries.

The teenagers allegedly tried to rob the man in the 2300 block of Pakenham
Dr. When he would not turn over money, they shot him with BBs three times.
Moments later, they tried to shove the woman off of a bike in the 2400 block
of Pakenham Dr. She was also shot with BB's three times, according to
Pohlmann.

The teenagers also fired the BB-gun at adults and children in several other
incidents, Pohlmann said.

The suspects are one 16-year-old, two 14-year-old, a 13-year-old and one
11-year-old. They were arrested on charges ranging from attempted robbery
and aggravated battery to resisting arrest and criminal damage to property.

The five were arrested shortly after the incidents and booked into the
parish juvenile detention center.

The BB-gun was not found, but the 14-year-old had BBs and CO2 propellants on
him when he was taken into custody.

The names of the five teenagers, all from New Orleans, were not released
because they are juveniles.
