a summer job

The St. Bernard Career Solutions Center today joined, the St. Bernard Parish
School Board, St. Bernard Parish Government, Nunez Community College and
Chalmette Refining, L.L.C. in an effort to provide job opportunities for
teen-agers this summer.

The Summer Partners Program, sponsored by Chalmette Refining and ExxonMobil
begins its 19th summer.

"High School is the perfect time to get that first job and get an
understanding of what the professional world demands of us," said Melissa
Kirsch, Director of the Louisiana Region 1 Workforce Investment Board. "We
appreciate the work of our partner, Chalmette Refining, and those employers
that will give these young people an opportunity for real work experience
The job market for young people in our region is tough, so it helps when
our partners in industry step up."

we operate," said Patrick Trahan, Manager of Public and Government
Relations, Chalmette Refining, LLC.

execution and the soft skills required to obtain and keep a job.

leadership to a community, and educational opportunities for jobs in demand,
to name a few. The seminars will be conducted by community leaders from
Regions Bank, the St. Bernard Parish Chamber of Commerce, Nunez Community
College, the Office of Workforce Development, and the University of New
Orleans. They will also work on a community project.
