An Austin, Texas, man and a Houston teenager each were booked late Thursday
on a charge of robbing a teenager in Meraux, St. Bernard Parish Sheriff
Jimmy Pohlmann said on Friday afternoon (June 20).

Timothy George, 22, of Austin, and the 15-year-old boy from Houston, whose
name and photo were not made pubic because he is a minor, robbed the
teenager of a cellphone and some cash after beating him outside a Meraux
store in the 4200 block of East Judge Perez Drive, according to Pohlmann.

The duo, who didn't use any weapons in the robbery, were arrested minutes
after the incident as they attempted to flee through the Lexington Place
subdivision in Meraux, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Both men were booked with a simple robbery charge, and George also was
booked on charges of criminal damage and resisting officers, according to
the Sheriff's Office.

Both men only had been in St. Bernard for a few days, visiting the juvenile
suspect's aunt who lives in Meraux, Pohlmann said.

Simple robbery is punishable by a maximum of seven years in prison and a
$3,000 fine, according to state law.
