The St. Bernard Parish Library is ending its 2014 summer reading activities
with a bang.  Readers are invited to attend the final story craft sessions
on Tuesday, July 8th at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. or Wednesday, July 9th at 11:30
a.m.  'Booming Books' will features stories celebrating reading and
libraries and will end with and eruption of fun and laughter.

 

Pre-readers thru 12th graders have until the library closes at 7 p.m. on
Thursday, July 10th to redeem their activities sheets for certificates and
coupons and to be entered into the Grand Finale Prize Drawing set for
Friday, July 11th at 3 p.m.  No late entries will be accepted.  Winners must
be present at the drawing to claim their prize.  

 

Readers who are unable to attend the prize drawing have until Saturday,
August 2nd to turn in their activities sheets and receive their reading
rewards.  Adult winner also have until August 2nd to turn in their activity
sheets to be eligible for their prize drawing set for Tuesday, August 2nd.
Adult winners will be notified by phone.

 

The St. Bernard Parish Library is fortunate to have the support of many
community-minded sponsors that recognize the importance of making reading a
part of everyday life.  The library is proud to recognize Audubon Institute,
Chalmette Movies, J & M Jewelers, Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi, Local
Flair, Louisiana Children's Museum, McDonalds, MeMe's Bar and Grille,
National World War II Museum, New Orleans Paddlewheels Inc., Pets Plus, and
Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers for their generous contributions to the
library's Fizz, Boom, Read pre-readers thru 5th grade, Spark a Reaction 6th-
12th grade and Literary Elements adult reading programs.
