'Gorgeous' Jean Lafitte National Park recommended for summer travel by

The Jean Lafitte National Park and Barataria Preserve has been named a
beautiful and uncrowded national parks by Yahoo Travel. The website says
tourists have six separate sites to choose from, including the French
Quarter, Chalmette Battlefield and Barataria Preserve on the West Bank.

Jean Lafitte is in good company, according to Yahoo Travel. Other "gorgeous
and surprisingly uncrowded'' parks include Chaco Culture National Historic
Park in New Mexico; Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska and North
Cascades National Park in Washington.

Though they may not be well known as the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone, parks
like Jean Lafitte are worthy of consideration, the report said.
