An autopsy of the 53-year-old Chalmette man found dead on Thursday afternoon
determined that there were no physical signs of trauma to his body,
according to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office did the autopsy.

A woman found the the body of the man, whose name was being withheld by
authorities, just before 2 p.m. Thursday (July 24) on the steps next to a
rock structure in Sidney D. Torres Memorial Park, Sheriff Jimmy Pohlmann
said.

Toxicology results, which could clear up his cause of death, are pending,
according to the Sheriff's Office.

The dead man had a history of drug use and detectives suspect that may have
been a factor, according the Sheriff's Office.
