The St. Bernard Parish School Board will host a parishwide Day of Reflection
breakfast on August 29 in remembrance of the ninth anniversary of Hurricane
Katrina. The commemoration will be in the form of a breakfast for federal,
state, and local community leaders, business representatives, partners for
the school district
and St. Bernard residents at 8:30 a.m. in the Chalmette High School
Lacoste Campus Gymnasium.

More than 500 people are expected to attend.

The board feels is important for the community to have the opportunity to
come together on this date for the purposes of memorializing the losses our
parish suffered at the hands of Katrina, while celebrating the rebuilding
and unity of spirit that is so evident in St. Bernard today, school
officials said.

Tickets, at $10, are available at the St. Bernard School Board office at 200
E.
St. Bernard Highway in Chalmette. Tickets will be sold on a first-come
first-served basis and must be purchased in advance since seating will be
limited. Tickets will not be sold at the door. For additional information,
call Shelby
Benezech at 301-2000.
