The express prohibition in Section 2-06 of the St. Bernard Parish Home Rule
Charter is against holding, not running, for another elected public office
while serving as a council member. Section 2-06 specifically prohibits a
sitting council member from holding another elected public office of the
parish government or any state political subdivision, unless one year has
passed after separation from the council. (Graham)
