Hi all,
I think we all agree, the Roundups just keep getting better.
Amazing!!! How can you improve on something as good as this... but
then it happens. Sandy, Bob, Jim, Virginia, Herb, Diane and the
support staff are doing something right.
For those of you that missed the "jam session" (don't remember which
night). LouAnne Stearns wrote and read the following poem:
Round-Up
June is coming, it's a special time of year.
Evart is a calling me, a town of friendly cheer.
Fairgrounds getting nearer, Good! I'm almost there.
Round-Up time is here.
Lots and lots of classes, so much to do and see.
I run from barn to barn real fast, don't know where I should be.
But you can bet your bippy, that I won't show up last
cuz those seats around the tables, fill up mighty fast.
Energetic teachers, some old and then some new.
Jacks carving smoothie birds and Floyds back up here too.
Dayle's doing spirits, Laura's doing dudes. Projects, projects
everywhere to fit your carving moods.
From Leather Plus I bought some books, from Leo I bought wood.
I filled my car truck to the brim, bought it cause I could.
Seems I'm getting low on cash with all this brand new stuff
But just like other carvers, I can never get enough.
I've got my knives, I've got my tools. Don't forget the glove
cause I need all these fingers to carve the things I love.
So come on up and join us for fun and social play.
Round-Up time is here again and it's going to start today.

Hi Marilyn,
I believe when you and I were talking Dennis was only a few steps away
from
us. It was a pleasure meeting you.
I brought back some cool stuff for Marnie's benefit, tools and carvings.
Dennis, thanks for giving me the shirt off your back. I wore it proudly
on
Friday. I had a most wonderful time meeting everyone. Names became a
blur
after the first few. Name tags were a big help in picking out the List
members. I wrote the three lists, that I belong to, on my nametag. That
helped some people spot who I was.
Somehow I was a little surprised at Bill. He looked a whole lot
different in
the pictures he published on his web site than when I saw him at Evart.
Maybe it was the Canadian sun that gave him the awesome tan the color of
brown cardboard?
Ol' Don can play both kinds of music very well, Country and Western. We
had
a great time listening to lots of songs, some of which were sang in the
key
of D.;>)
Sandy Holder and her team did a great job pulling it all together. I
have
some appretiation how much effort goes into it from hosting a tiny
version
of the Roundup. I'm looking forward to several of those teachers coming
to
my GOW in September.
