I've seen several business models, but I like yours about the best. <storing idea for later use>.
Thanks for sharing.

Subject: [Woodcarver] NEW PICS various projects
Hi all, I have finally sat down at the pc and done some work. I have posted pics of my in progress projects on the first page of my website. click on any of the pictures on the top of the page and it will take you to the step-by-step photos of that project. Lots of interesting projects, lots of pics. So if anyone is bored please go to www.carvinginnyc.com
Just to let you know, I pride myself as a commission carver and have yet to turn down a request. I used to think that I had to find a niche and specialize in order to turn a profit but it seems that being able to carve anything requested is a niche all its own. My bigger jobs lately, have told me exactly that, that it is the diversity of carvings on my website that are attracting customers. My philosophy is kind of like, "build it and they will come" and it is working. I now have moved away from winging things to actually needing to schedule work and sometimes making myself work when I don't want to. The fun I get to have in the finishing stages of any carving is worth it all, money doesn't hurt either.
