Hi Y'all, greetings from Del Rio TX. We came down here hoping to escape
the nasty NY winter, but the weather hasn't been what I expected. We are at
the Southwind Marina right on the shore of Amistad Lake created by dams on
the Rio Grande River. I have water on 3 sides and can see Mexico through my
front window. As you all know I haven't done much carving since I got my
laser engraver, so I brought along some blanks and tools. I did a few
cottonwood bark pieces (no pics) and am now working on a butternut panel
18X30 with grapes and leaves. I started with one of Ivan's grape patterns
and then used the background (ground) for additional elements I put in
freehand. It's still very much in the rough, but I would appreciate your
comments on the project and my use of otherwise waste wood. I'll probably
add more to the bottom to balance with the top.. Take a peek if you like..
