Jim

Thanks, I just picked one up today its an old Helmut Kammerer works, it cost
me $2.00 CDN. I just disassembled it and I am working on a new Canadian
design. You know with Canadian items such as black bears Mouse things like
that. I am surprised none of the caricature carvers, out there have made one
by now. A cookoo clock with caricature carvings would look outstanding and
be both functional and entertaining at the same time. Anyway thanks I'm
doing just what you recommended.

Bing,

If I might make a suggestion, buy a couple of old working cuckoos rather
than buy the movement, bellows, wires and weights. I have been repairing
these critters for over 20 years and they can be fun to get the linkage set
up right at times!

Many old clocks have damaged carvings. The carvings normally come off with
a few nails and then you can make anything you wish to replace it with and
not have the problems of making it run right. I am not saying that the
carving part is the easy part but making the case from scratch and
installing everything right is a whole different ball game!
