Lori,
Video demos on you site would be a wonderful addition.
I have been doing photo and video forensic work for a police department
for about 15 years and am fairly well versed in the equipment and software
used for video editing, so maybe I can help.
This site will answer some of the questions that you are sure to have
about digital video on the web.
http://stream.uen.org/medsol/digvid/html/mainmenu.html
As far as software goes Adobe Premier Pro, (@ $700.00), is the Photoshop
of the video world. However if Adobe Premier Elements, (@ $100.00), is as
good as Photoshop Elements it might be worth a look. I have never use it.
Processor speed, computer memory, and your video card have a huge impact
on the video editing process. If they are not good enough, editing video
can be a lot like covering your canvas with gesso using a #0000 brush, you
can do it, but it aint gona be much fun.
Hard drive storage can be huge for video depending on the lemgth, format
and fps rate. The above site should explain much.
It can get expensive and addictive. A few years ago I got into photography
simply for reference shots for my bird carving. (If ya don’t know what it
looks like ya sure can’t carve it.) About $10k in equipment later I am
still salivating over photographic catalogs, but I do have some great
shots!
Since this is an art form, I am sure that you will approach it as you do
all of your work and half way just won’t be good enough for you. YOU GO
GIRL!
Thank you so much for all of the wonderful information that you have
selflessly shared with the carving community.
