Hey Carving Friends!

I’m working on a new project! This is not affiliated with any carving
business – it is a project I’ve wanted to do for a while on my own. It is a
motivational calendar, which features photos of hand-made art. Each calendar
will include contact info about the artist. I’m hoping to promote hand-made
art as well as create some promotion for each artist.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. I will purchase your photo for a one-time use; our agreement will be for
this calendar only.
2. You offer me a price for the photo – you can also trade use of the photo
for free copies of the calendar.
3. The photos will be small, so choose a piece that shows nicely in a 3” x
4” space.
4. Please include a short description of the piece.
5. You can send any resolution photo for the preliminary first round. If
your piece is chosen, you will need to send a high-resolution photo later.
6. Don’t worry if you are not able to take high-resolution photos, you can
also send your piece to me to shoot.
7. You can send photos of carvings, paintings, drawings, burnings,
sculpture, etc.
8. Since it is a calendar, holiday projects are encouraged.

Frequently asked questions:
1. How do I choose a price for my photo?
If you want to increase your chance of being chosen for the
project, just ask for free calendars as a trade. Your name and contact info
will be included so you could consider it to be free promotion. If you
prefer to receive payment for the photo, choose a price that you think is
fair. Since this is a pretty low-budget project, higher-priced photos will
probably not be chosen
2. Where will the calendar be available?
I will promote the calendar through direct mail, the Internet,
small booksellers, various small stores, and I’m working on the big
retailers – but we’ll see how that turns out!
3. When will the calendar be available?
My goal is to have it ready for the 2008 calendar sale season.
4. Where do I send my photos?
marn at marniewhillock.com please put “photo calendar” in the
subject line.
5. What is the deadline for the photos?
I have already started receiving photos – so send as soon
as possible to increase your chance of being included.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me privately at:

ART!!!

Have a fantastic day!!
