[Woodcarver] Carving a scroll

I want to carve a Stammtisch sign for a friend who is opening a bar.
Specifically I want to do it in the style of a scroll unrolling upward on
one end and down on the other.  I'm looking for a good example, tutorial, or
go-by.  Can anyone suggest a good example or resource online for something
like this?
