Hello Friends -
Last week, for the second year in a row, we made a 675 mile drive
from Flushing, MI to Hohenwald, TN to pick up a Secret Pal carving.
Last year it was a wonderful clown carving from Ol' Don - this year
the carving was a great little whimsical house carving by Sandie
Burgdorf. I got to hold it for all of about five seconds before the
lovely Catherine scooped it out of my hand. The last time I saw the
caving it was headed into her purse. I've been after Sandie to
participate in the Secret Pal exchange for a long time, so it was a
delight to receive her first carving in her first exchange.
Truth be told, we didn't drive all that distance only for Sandie's
carving. Figured we'd get a little dancing in while we were down that
way. So after lunch at a local watering hole, we turned the car
around and headed back to Nashville, where we spend the next four days
at a swing dance event hosted by the Music City Bop Club. Boy, those
Nashville folks know how to party!
Thanks Sandie for a great carving and an all too short visit with you
and Ol' Don.
Carve On! (and Dance On!)
Matt
