I read on the PRRT&HS discussion board this morning
(7/1/06) that photographer Bruce Meyer passed away
Friday. He visited NWHS archives several times,
usually with his long-time friend, Bob Hundman. Bruce
was known for his late 50's and early 60's steam
photography.

The following information was edited from that site -

Bruce was a long-time employee of EMD marketing. He
retired from EMD as the Senior Vice President of sales
and marketing. Several years back Bruce donated his
collection of EMD paint and lettering diagrams to the
NMRA because, in his words, "I am a steam lover and
not a diesel man..."

Bruce was a DMIR modeler and was a prolific
photographer, traveling in his post high school years
with a small, well-known group, J. Parker Lamb, Ted
Rose, Bob Hundman, and others.

I met Bruce only two times, both at the archives
sessions. He was generous with historical information
and access to his enormous library of photos. His
work has been published in many N&W books. His photos
of the last fan trip of an A (1240 in July 1959) have
been recommended to accompany an upcoming article in
The Arrow.
