I was saddened to hear of his passing; I corresponded with him a bit several years ago and he gladly shared his photo files with me. I'm also glad he put his knowledge and collection into book form; it inspired me to explore a bit along the old branch a couple years ago on the way to Roanoke for the NWHS confab. We're the greater for his choosing to pass along his knowledge of the people and the RR that both employed and served them.
Condolences also to his family.
