TO BUILD RAILWAY FROM RADFORD TO MT. AIRY

Radford, Va., July 11 -- B.G. Howard, a lawyer and prominent
citizen of Floyd, came to Radford last week to obtain information in
regard to the proposed railroad between this place and Mt. Airy, N.C.
The citizens of this town are anxious to be represented at the
meeting to be held shortly at Mt. Airy, and if the committee of ten
appointed by the Civic League will journey to Mt. Airy via Floyd,
they will be given a hearty reception there. Arrangements will also
probably be made to hold a meeting in Floyd.
Dr. J.J. Mott, of Statesville, N.C., who started the movement in
behalf of the Statesville Air Line railroad, also arrived here last
week. He had a conference with ex-Governor Tyler, J.L. Vaughan and
others in reference to the railroad project.
W.G. Stigleman, Little River, who is interested in a paint deposit
along that stream, was also here on Wednesday looking into railroad matters.
