Gentleman,

It is an Apples to Oranges comparison as has already been stated.

I will leave you with some quotes from David P. (who wants a cab ride?)
Morgan, November 1954 Trains magazine

*"Though a Y6 will turn up 50 miles per hour, her true talent is tonnage at
a more modest gait- say, between 20 and 33, where she will churn up 4800
drawbar horsepower mile after mile."*

*"A glance at the lithe, high carriage of the class A 2-6-6-4 is enough to
convince one that compounding would never work here. This is horsepower,
the very exemplification of what that term has come to mean for US
railroading..."*

*"The J - class 4-8-4 of Norfolk & Western is weighty evidence, though,
that it is indeed possible to slip a party dress over boiler and rods and
emerge without serious compromise of mechanical integrity. Her bullet -
nosed jacketing flows back to the cab with religious regard for the contour
of the boiler; atop is a sky-line casing of Espee origin. The whole effect,
in jet black relieved by a broad band of Tuscan red at running board level,
is one that has weathered the years as well as the ageless GG1 electric."*
