 I came across the attached N&W photo of an artist painting what is almost
certainly the Shaffers Crossing coaling station.  The N&W negative number
stamped on the back, 515028, dates it about September 1958 according to
close negative numbers in Art Bixby's list of N&W photos in the NWHS
archives.

Is the artist the famous Norman Rockwell (see two attached pictures of
him)?  If not a notable artist like Rockwell, why would the N&W have sent a
photographer to photograph him?  Where is this painting now?
