I found the general arrangement drawings in the archives website but I cannot enlarge the image enough to read any of the figures.  What was the overall length of these cars?

Subject: Re: N&W Passenger train consists The Pj coaches 1700-1709 were built in 1935 by Bethlehem Steel Corporation.  Walther's made a close model in their line of wood and metal kits, long out of production.  The Athearn coach with the arch roof is close except for its length and 6 wheel trucks.   The BPf combines 1550-1557 were built by Bethlehem at the same time as the coaches.  All of these cars were sold off circa 1960.  I believe the coaches were sold to Mexico. N&W's diagram for the Pj cars was marked cancelled 1961. --Rick Morrison

What is the origin of the PJ class coaches?  Any good ideas for modeling them?

Subject: Re: N&W Passenger train consists #yiv0152844968 #yiv0152844968 Early 1950's photo of the Pocahontas in Petersburg, VA with the Washington coach on the rear. It is a class Pj.  Ahead of the coach is the Chicago-Norfolk sleeper and heavyweight 10section-lounge car.  Several years ago there was anticle in The Arrow on the short run trains which connected N&W to Richmond.  The run was on ACL tracks but N&W power to Richmond.  The N&W locomotives assigned to this were equiped with ACL automatic train control apparatus. I have a duplicate slide of a K2 pulling a train on ACL.  There is a Pm coach in the consist which I think is the Washington coach.  --Rick Morrison
