O gauge Y-6b/HO Y's

I don't know how many times the Y6b has been done in
O, but I suspect that if I were an O scaler I'd be
happy to get any good N&W 2-8-8-2 at a decent price;
just MHO.

Yes, Mark, it's kind of reverse thinking, but on this
list I think a few years ago there was a set of
instructions for making a Y5(?)out of a Rivarossi Y6b.
Y-3's are out there in brass, plastic, and
diecast/brass hybrid. For some reason the Y6b has
been very popular because it was the end of the line,
and sometimes model popularity takes on a strange life
of its own, independent of the number built in
prototype[can you say PRR S-2??]. And that's a topic
that's a lot of fun, that has been debated on at least
one steam loco list and one brass list that I know of.
