Russ,

Well said; George Hughes, John Snidow, Charlie Schlotthober and I worked
with LifeLike to produce those N&W E units; actually, the Society did the
first, and George Hughes spotted the second one.

Personally, I would like BLI approached to produce various Y class
locomotives; they have done the Y-6b and thus already have a mechanism. I
realize there were minimal differences in the length of the Y class locos,
but those are minute in HO scale. The boiler for each class is within a few
inches of each other; a "generic" Y boiler with appropriate details added
would make a readily available Y-5, Y-6 and Y-6a; to the extent there are
differences in the cabs would require a separate cab to be produced for
each model; perhaps even a different tender as well. If things went well,
perhaps even a Y-4 with the ACL tender would fit into their plans.

Manufacturers get bombarded all the time from well-meaning hobbyists to
produce this or that model; most of us have no idea what it takes, and
costs, to develop a model and bring it to market.

Best wishes.

Jim Brewer
