Cameron,
You're safe with any and all road names in Canada and the US. The freight knew no boundaries and cars moved freely around the various railroads. Generally speaking the home road (N&W in your case) had a larger number of its own cars which saved costs. One the N&W MOST, but not all, hoppers would be N&W.

I finally got around to cataloging all the rolling stock I have, and I realized that most if not all of what I have is for N&W.
What other road names would have had been seen on N&W rails during the 40s-60s? I figure Virginian is a given, and maybe Southern. What else? I'm looking for rolling stock that I can get that will add some variety while still being prototypical for that period.
