  UPDATING

ClipMate 6.3
------------
ClipMate 6.3.06 is the latest release, and is a free update for all
registered users of any ClipMate 6 version. Just download over the top
of your current ClipMate 6 installation. There are many fixes,
improved database cleanup, and several new features such as a new
"auto-update" option which can keep the program up-to-date for you,
and a new bitmap scaling feature for printing small bitmaps. You can
read more about the new features in 6.3, and also any prior 6.x
version here:

New Product - Darn! Passwords PRO v3.1
--------------------------------------
Most people don't take password management very seriously. Are you
using short, easy-to-remember words or phrases? Easy to remember,
means easy to guess! Are you using the same password for multiple
sites? One compromised site could give hackers the keys to your
kingdom! Are you keeping passwords in plain text files, spreadsheets
or post-it notes? That could be a costly mistake. You really need to
use unique, hard-to-guess passwords on every site. And you need to
keep them in a safe place - ideally in an encrypted format. Darn!
Passwords enables you to have GOOD password habits.

Darn! Passwords keeps track of all those pesky passwords you need for
the Internet, on line services, financial sites, and other secure
programs. You remember one password. Darn! Passwords remembers all the
rest. It remembers URLs of password-protected web sites. Just pick the
password, and drag it and it's log-in into the program or web site
that uses it. No retyping is necessary. Its simple interface makes
using your passwords easy.

Now for the good part - we've acquired Darn! Passwords. It's now a
Thornsoft product. We've had it since December, but have been busy
"transforming" it a bit. Existing Darn! customers love the new changes
- we think you will too.

We invite you to download the product and give it a try:

Testimonials Wanted!
--------------------
Do you have a neat way of using ClipMate? Has it saved you time? Has
it saved your job or even your life? Care to share with other users?
See our new testimonial submission page:

Make it short and sweet, because display space is limited (it'll show
up in the box on the left of every page on our site). You can include
your company and web site if you'd like - it'll show if present.
e-mail addresses are required for verification, but aren't shown (so
there's no danger of SPAM from this). Thanks!

ClipMate Tip - Options have moved:
----------------------------------
To ease crowding, the "Empty Trash", Backup, and Restore options
have been moved. So instead of beneath File, they're now beneth
File | Database Maintenance.

ClipMate Tip - save time and memory:
------------------------------------
Do you never (or rarely) use either ClipMate Classic (the little
toolbar) or ClipMate Explorer (the big, 3-pane window)? You can
speedup loading and save some memory by telling ClipMate not to load
them in the background. There is a "load at startup" option for each
of these windows, in Config | User Preferences, then select either the
Classic or Explorer Tab, and the option is the first one on the page.
For example, if you rarely use Explorer, you can prevent it from being
auto-loaded by turning off the "load Explorer at startup". It'll still
be available if you need it, but it'll take a couple of seconds to
load. Note that QuickPaste uses Classic, so don't unload that one if
you use QuickPaste a lot.

UPDATING
--------
The current release is v6.3.06, released on June 2, 2004. If you are
running any other 6.x version, you can just download and run the
installer to update your existing copy. Your registration key, and
data will remain. If you are running a registered copy of version 5 or
earlier, we invite you to download version 6 for a free, 30-day trial.
You can purchase an upgrade key for version 6 for only $19.95.

We hope you enjoy the new ClipMate, and that you give Darn! a try.
