Hi Devin, all,

I’m told that the thread has been updated with some further info, including magazine scans. Have you seen this? It seems FRED was only ever a prototype.

The article uploaded (from Australian Occupational Therapy Journal) provides an interesting early statement on the possible utility of games in physical/occupational therapy.

Cheers,

Melanie

Hi Devin,

Never heard of it, but then my speciality is obscure New Zealand machines! The Z80 was widely used and many people made stuff locally, as I’ve been saying for years. Travelling atm, but I’ll ask around my collector network when I get a chance.

Half a million seems a tad optimistic, if this is the only one that has surfaced.

Melanie

Here's an oddity that's finding its way across the web. It's FRED, a game console made in Australia in 1983. Serial number on this is in the 320,000s, and I wouldn't be surprised if they manufactured over half a million.

Unfortunately, doesn't seem to be much information on it.

Melanie or anyone else here know a bit more about it?
